Harvard researchers surveyed 231 male weightlifters aged 18 to 40 and found 27 had used human growth hormone or IGF-I. All 27 had also used anabolic steroids, and 15 had used opioids, cocaine or ecstasy. Illicit HGH use often accompanies street drug use, they conclude.
