Researchers followed 47,541 men for 22 years and 91,227 women for 28 years, confirming 566 and 966 non-Hodgkin lymphoma cases. Adjusting for age, race and other factors, men obese at ages 18 to 21 had a 64 percent higher risk of the disease later in life than non-obese men.
