Organic Food
Organic farmers work without most conventional pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, bioengineering or irradiation, and organic meat, eggs and dairy come from animals given no antibiotics or growth hormones. A government-approved certifier must inspect farms and handlers.

How to Identify Real Organic Food
The USDA Organic seal means food that is at least 95 percent organic, free of genetically modified organisms, not irradiated, and from a farm meeting rules on soil, pasture, antibiotics, feed, records and annual inspection. "Made With Organic Ingredients" means at least 70 percent.
