Rotavirus vaccine cuts death risk from severe diarrhea

Two New England Journal of Medicine studies found rotavirus vaccination cut diarrhea deaths by 61 percent in Africa and 35 percent in Mexico. In South Africa and Malawi, 1.9 percent of vaccinated infants had severe diarrhea, against 5 percent of those given placebo.
