Mice carrying human colon cancer cells and fed walnut oil or flaxseed oil for six weeks grew tumors 43% and 27% more slowly than corn-oil-fed mice, and final tumor mass fell 33% and 44%. The oils lowered serum angiogenesis factors rather than hormones or inflammation.

Food
Walnuts Slow Prostate Tumors
Mice with prostate tumors that ate a walnut quantity a man could easily match showed controlled tumor growth and changes in genes governing tumor growth and metabolism. Walnuts supply omega-3 fats and antioxidants, and clinical studies link them to lower cardiovascular risk.
Diet
Walnuts and low fat diet may curb growth of prostate cancer
Prostate tumors grew slowly in mice fed a diet with 20 percent of calories from walnuts - about as slowly as on a 5 percent fat diet - while a 20 percent fat diet sped growth. Paul Davis says a man would need roughly 500 calories of walnut oil for a comparable effect.
