March 30, 2015 (foodconsumer.org) -- A new study published most recently in IJCRR suggests that exposure to 2G or 3G cell phone radiation  may damage men's fertility.

The study found male mice with testes exposed to 900 - 1800 MHz radiation emitted from 2G cell phone and 1900 -2200 MHz from 3G cell phone, 48 minutes a day for 30 days had their testosterone levels lowered significantly, compared with controls.

In the study, mice were exposed to 2G and 3G ultra-high frequency radiation for 48 minutes every day during a period of 30 to 180 days.  The testosterone levels in mice exposed to the radiation were found significantly lower than that in controls at first, second, third, fourth and sixth months.

The histomorphometric study also revealed that mice exposed to cell phone radiation had significantly smaller testes and lower numbers of Sertoli cells and Leydig cells, compared to controls.

2G cell phones and 3G cell phones had the same effect on the testis weight and volume and testosterone levels and the number of Sertoli cells and Leydig

cells.

The study suggests that exposure to ultra-high frequency radiation emitted from cell phones may lower the fertility in men. (David  Liu)
