Dear Readers,

Do you think the government is protecting us from harmful chemicals in personal care products?

It's not.

Right now, cosmetics companies can put almost any ingredient they want into personal care products without having to prove that it's safe. EWG's research has found everything from hormone disruptors to carcinogens in products we use every day, such as shampoos and moisturizers. It's way past time for Congress to step up and reform these broken cosmetics regulations.

EWG is leading the fight, but we need you and our million other supporters to join us now to make sure the new Congress hears us loud and clear.

Click here to stand with EWG and demand that Congress act NOW to get dangerous chemicals out of our cosmetics and personal care products!

We need real reform and strong regulations. The Food and Drug Administration must have the authority to review questionable cosmetics ingredients. And it should be required to review a certain number of questionable ingredients every year to make sure they all meet a basic safety threshold - "reasonable certainty of no harm."

The personal care products industry needs to be held to a higher standard. Too often, companies hide important health and safety information behind "trade secret" claims. They should have to show that these claims are reasonable.

The only way we will ever get reforms like these is if you stand with us today. Please take a minute and sign EWG's petition calling on Congress to reform our broken cosmetics regulations.

Thank you for taking action. Together, our voices are stronger.

Sincerely,

Ken Cook
